しだいしだいに私たちは

久しぶりに、モモを読み返してみた。やっぱり大好きだなあと再確認したんだけど、下の一節にドキリとさせられた。

しだいしだいに子どもたちは、小さな時間貯蓄家といった顔つきになってきました。やれと命じられたことを、いやいやながら、おもしろくもなさそうに、ふくれっつらでやります。そしてじぶんたちの好きなようにしていいと言われると、こんどはなにをしたらいいか、ぜんぜんわからないのです。

それで、とある動画を思い出した。もう何度も見たけど、何度見てもやっぱり良い。

When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and you're - you're life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money.

That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: and that is everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can, you can build your own things that other people can use.

Ah, once you learn that, you'll never be the same again.
